On the other hand, there's nothing wrong about "Help me Rhonda", is just that everyone is distracted by comparing it with the Summer Days version.

10/10 (not a bad song, the filler track doesn't count since is just chatter)Sesenta Veinticincohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09328806210652465946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-76306867996218642952013-09-21T17:23:01.955+04:002013-09-21T17:23:01.955+04:00Amazing album, and I agree that if not for the att...Amazing album, and I agree that if not for the attempt at being clever with the fading in and out of volume on Help Me Rhonda I would deem it perfect. I don't mind that this version has less harmony etc. - the fading in and out thing is pure BS.

So few albums are perfect that when a very avoidable bad decision spoils it's 'perfect' status it's saddening I don't count the spoken word last track as really part of it so I find that irrelevant in rating the music.

4.75 stars out of 5 - so wish Help Me Rhonda's volume was left alone.Aaronnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-39333351458695024332013-09-21T17:22:22.578+04:002013-09-21T17:22:22.578+04:00Amazing album, and I agree that if not for the att...Amazing album, and I agree that if not for the attempt at being clever with the fading in and out of volume on Help Me Rhonda I would deem it perfect. And the fact that I got it in a single box with "Summer Days" means that I'll play it a lot more in the future :)Charlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13895711421360018279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-57310044540344826602011-11-02T18:47:37.830+04:002011-11-02T18:47:37.830+04:00Stole vinyl without the cover from a girl decades ...Stole vinyl without the cover from a girl decades ago (probably '87) and still enjoy nearly everything here. Right up there with Pet Sounds/Surf's Up in terms of sheer genius: BW nearing his peak in terms of composing, producing, etc.
Obviously they weren't getting everything right even with our pot-smoking hero off touring. "Help me Rhonda" is much better on Summer Days while the last cut is admittedly worthless. Those other gems on side two are more valuable than a lot of bands' entire careers and side one is pretty amazing too.
Best tracks have to be "Please let me Wonder," "Kiss me Baby" and "She knows me too Well." But it is 95% as good and deserves to be canonized as a great album, the finest representation of their early period on two sides of vinyl.Jeremiahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12054254727747120279noreply@blogger.com
