Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, By Jeeves, The Beautiful Game, The Woman in White have a lot of beautiful compositions too. Nothing less than 6 ones each of them.
Only after careful listening to the mentioned musicals, I came to a conclusion that Andrew is the single best contemporary music composer (the Beatles legacy is perhaps even more impressive, but should be devided by two, mind you).
I do not ask you to review these albums but I sincerely recommend you to listen to them. They are worth it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-62316047885491882602012-04-09T10:20:46.900+04:002012-04-09T10:20:46.900+04:00Your longevity point may be as well correct! Harry Potter Book 4 is the longest one (excluding book #5 which I doun't count as a true HP book) and it is WITH THIS BOOK WHERE THE TROUBLE BEGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to criticize any of the efforts the singers and actors etc. took upon themselves, neither would I like to argue about taste and preferences, but for this topic with these - sorry - extremely repetitive melodies it seems to go nowhere.
Don't get me wrong, it's not about the movie, rather about the music and the storyline. Especially the music gives you the feeling that the melodies were written in one or two afternoon sessions, in careful schedule, not to jeopardize 5 o'clock tea, and then put in random order to pretend some kind of self-references.
And I don't want to say it's bad, I just want to say that at some point it's gotten out of control and way too lengthy. That's when the fun left...Fnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-45822276851401433222012-04-08T11:49:27.464+04:002012-04-08T11:49:27.464+04:00And Harry Potter books are not bad at all, at leas...And Harry Potter books are not bad at all, at least up to book 4. Lighten up...I don't get what you are on about!
Lighten up and have some fun or you'll get an ulcer or heart attack...
Andrew Lloyd Webber's music is beautiful, however it's shown.
POTO music is soaring, serpentine, young love awakening...where as the latter, Love Never Dies, POTO 2, the music is wistful, sad, longing and regretful.
All that music has to do is to evoke an emotion in someone, not to be analysed to bits...
I loved the stage shows of both Phantoms, here in Australia and UK and subsequent stage sequel to Phantom and the amazingly beautiful movie by Joel Schumaker.
Hats off to all who sing, act and produce these productions for us to occupy our minds for either pain, memories or pleasure.
I vote 10/10 for pure pleasure (and lots of eye candy in the movie too)
Brava!!!
.Adminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07108929232890804056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-20332642588266144562012-04-08T00:50:50.196+04:002012-04-08T00:50:50.196+04:00Harry Potter Book 1 was not bad.Harry Potter Book 1 was not bad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-28865671233211566202012-04-07T23:59:00.931+04:002012-04-07T23:59:00.931+04:00And Waters will of course sue you for stealing his...And Waters will of course sue you for stealing his idea he was going to have anyway!
This review made me want to rush through the whole thing, and I found the 2004 movie version, which seems to run for far too long. I probably had my prejudices against Lloyd Webber, but after sitting for seemingly five hours watching the movie and realising that only one and a half hour has passed I can relax, the prejudices were reassured and strengthened.Fnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-660808341284783109.post-68590258955796403152012-04-07T20:55:04.968+04:002012-04-07T20:55:04.968+04:00See, now that you've written it, Waters will s...See, now that you've written it, Waters will stumble across it and decide it's a great idea.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13001613630669089666noreply@blogger.com
